Dear All,
My observations on Majura, are similar to Yardens,The birds seem to be in much smaller groups these days, and seen anywhere there are even isolated stands of pines. They will of course gather in larger groups in winter.I have yet to hear a young bird which is a bit disturbing. My feeling is that overall there are not the total numbers of two years ago.given the almost infinite food reserves in the Tumut Plantations and the closeness of unburnt Eucalypt forests with large dead limbs to nest in,possibly they have moved on? Take care,Terry.
