So the Grey-backed Shrike L tephronotus had not strayed from its native Himalayas after all? I had thought the eagle-eyed wishtickers had struck again. The Grey-backed is said to resemble the Long-tailed ('Schach's') which, as it occurs commonly in New Guinea, I was going to suggest as perhaps the more likely for Belconnen.
