The earlyish morning here on the lower slopes of Gossan Hill has just been
enhanced by a very vocal Grey Butcherbird (53rd species for my site this
year).  I didn't get a good look at it as it was chased off by one of the
local goon squad of magpies.  This led me to wonder if Canberra's magpies
are more aggressive than those of Sydney etc and whether this might
contribute to the low recording rate of butcherbirds here?
