I reckon it would be worth a Wednesday walk - the best birds were probably near the refuse tip, and it's probably a better site for parking anyway. It's immediately past the Captain's Flat turnoff on the right-hand side of Kings Hwy.
 
It might also be worth a longer outing, but can get a bit steep further in, and there aren't too many tracks, and several gully crossings (these may be dampish, if it ever rains properly again). I would think a spring timing would be best, but maybe combine it with a visit to the Kowen TSR just down the road towards Bungendore or Brooks Hill Reserve closer to Bung.
