After all the snow being reported from the alpine area we went up yesterday for a day walk.
We wandered along Merritts Nature Trail looking for Pink Robin. We werent successful. Can anyone tell me of a reliable spot in this area to see this species as I have yet to see this elusive bird?
The creek was a raging torrent due to the snow melt and we did see some dozen species along the walk.

We then drove to Charlotte Pass. The Snowy River was a roaring torrent which made it impossible to cross it and continue the walk to Blue Lake. However the surrounding mountains were covered in snow. I think there was still snow down to 1900m at least. Up here we only saw Little Ravens and Silvereyes, and heard a Flame Robin.

There were many Kestrels and Brown Falcons on the drive to the Alps and Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoos were heard in Jindabyne.
On the trip back home we passed by at least 12 White-throated Needletails along the Monaro Highway near Bumbalong Rd.

Cheers
Marnix
