I am also curious as to why grey butcherbirds seem so rare in Canberra suburbs.
Or is this just my perception? Does the GBS state otherwise?? Down the South
coast butcherbirds are one of the more common 'garden' birds and I would have
thought Canberra gardens would provide suitable habitat.
Grey Butcherbirds do seem relatively common on the city fringe. Eg
Hall Hill, Mulligans flat, Mt Majura- Hackett edge- almost always present
Conder hill, Campbell Park, ANBG- usually present
Aranda Bushland- rarely present
Do they occur in Bruce ridge, Perceival Hill or Mt Rogers??
Where else do people see them?
