Hi All,

I just went to the Namadgi visitors centre to escape the non-excitement of being at home. I recall having written a similar message a year ago. Even in the hottest part of a fairly warm day, with strong winds, the woodland area next to the building was just full of all sorts of ordinary woodland birds. No Storm-Petrels or Hummingbirds etc but nice birds all over. Well worth a stroll, if you're in southern ACT. For what it's worth, this included at least a pair of white-winged trillers. I also saw a male white-winged triller at Tuggeranong shops next to the big hole in the ground by the skatepark on 25-12-04 and by Monaro Highway in Hume a week earlier. By this and other observations, It looks like this species is having a very good year, after many years of decline. I wonder if it will revert to its 1981-82 abundance levels.
