I went for a stroll around Dunlop Pond yesterday. The most interesting bird was a Latham's Snipe which flushed from the shoreline. Several Golden-headed Cisticolas (1 a young bird) also present in the very long grass. Several Grey Teal and Black Duck both with ducklings in tow on the open water. Out along Gooromon Ponds near Jarramlee there were Dusky Woodswallows, Rainbow Bee-eaters, Rufous Songlarks...and Red-rumped Parrots seem to be absolutely everywhere this summer!

This morning I saw that the female musk duck reported in the past was still at Uriarra Homestead dam.

I also had a pair of great egrets in my 'backyard' last week in place of the usual single bird.

Cheers
Marnix
