At about 9am today, I saw 21 RWBs flying over in an easterly direction in groups of up to about ten in number.  They stopped on each major tree they encountered in my GBS area.  I was only outside for couple of minutes and I don't know whether it was just a segment of a much larger overfly.

The local pair of RWBs were obviously quite bemused and cackled away for some time after the main group had left the area.

I have never seen more than a resident family in the area before.  Why would there be a migration (if that is what I was observing) in December?
