Hello Carol, 

Not much doubt about the "mystery" bird being a Golden Whistler. You can see 
the yellow undertail coverts.

Regarding Olive Whistlers, I'd be looking for the highest point where there is 
regular winter snow, maybe Mount Bindo?

Olive Whistlers regularly breed at Mt Ginini west of Canberra. You need dense 
thickets of Myrtaceous shrubbery
