Martin
check the Australian twitchers page on facebook and/or NSW pages on
Eremaea/birdline if you can. Reports are that the bird has been visible from
outside the venue today and yesterday.

I was planning to drive from near Canberra to Penrith tomorrow to twitch
the Lapwing. Fortunately another Canberra birder was there and has advised
that the site is closed due to setting up for something. On checking
the website
for the location <https://regattacentre.nsw.gov.au/> it seems to be closed
until 29 September. I am not keen on doing a 600km round trip to have some
security Jobsworth tell me I can't get to see the bird, "because ...." so
wonder whether someone familiar with the area can advise if it is possible
to see the bird without going to the rower-infested area.
