I'm not sure I'd like to be immortal, it goes on too long. Shuffling off
one's mortal coil when my number comes up seems more appropriate. And it
gives me a finite birdlist.

with you. If you keep your data on eBird, you will be immortal.
It was invaluable on my recent trip to Australia. It helped find local
hotspots, and produced bar-graphs of seasonal abundance each locality. Has
a bulk upload feature so you can import your existing data from most
databases.
