Fri 7 Mar Little Eagle Western slopes of Mt Ainslie, Canberra
Two birds soaring over the high western slopes of Mt Ainslie, one probably a light adult and the other red on the breast, so maybe a juvenile. We noticed them because we heard loud calling for several minutes at a time, though we couldn't tell whether it was by one or both. We don't often see them around this side of the hill (though I know the nest is near the AWM, which isn't far), and the loud and prolonged calling and the obvious juvenile plumage of one made it a notable sighting for us.
