Fri 21 Jun Australasian Shoveler Hasties Swamp National Park
Australasian Shoveler (3) 2 males 1 female, seen at the north end, on the Atherton side of the fence that runs across the wetland, where the bamboo is planted alongside the road. Not the best photo, though better than nothing, as it was late in the afternoon.

Zebra Finch (3) Corner of Styx St and Warburton St, North Ward, feeding on nature strip. (Moderator Note: - This species has not been recorded in this 1' cell previously)

Wed 19 Jun Barking Owl Undara Volcanic National Park
1 seen, being harassed by a Lewin's Honeyeater, on the 3.30pm tour to the Archway. Only heard here once in 4 years, this is the first sighting of this species in that time period. Thanks to Eric Roper for being the "spotter".

Tue 18 Jun Barking Owl Forty Mile Scrub National Park
Seen from the highway a few hundred metres before the rest area, possibly a Male for it's larger size. Observed for a few minutes, the bird acted almost unconserned, allowing me to approach quite close for a photo, flying away as I got back into the car.

Ground Cuckooshrike (2) good views, seen flying across the highway about 2km east of Georgetown, clearly seen long black forked tail and black wings, rest of the body appears light grey/white in flight.

Barking Owl heard and recorded at 1:15 am.

Sat 15 Jun Little Kingfisher Kingfisher Park Birdwatchers Lodge
Good views of Little Kingfisher bathing at Crake pond from perch for 4-5 minutes. (Moderators Note:- There have been two other sightings at this location since 5th May 2013).

Australian Pratincole ~30kms north of Tully on Spandos Rd
13 Australian Pratincole were observed in a ploughed cane field. There were ~10 flying over a field a couple of Kms further south.

Good views of Rufous Owl after hearing call during nocturnal tour with Alan Gillanders.

Display call of a Golden Bowerbird was heard from Barron Falls Road, opposite Rob Delvers Dr Environmental Park. Mid to late afternoon.

Following on previous report from 11/6/13. I also saw 1 Cotton Pygmy-goose on its own and 2 Green Pygmy-goose in same pond/lake.

Wed 12 Jun Budgerigar Dixie Homestead
Several flocks of at least two hundred birds seen near Dixie Homestead (also near Oriners Outstation both on Dixie station).
