The following is a digest of Sightings Reported on Birdpedia for the period
Monday, February 11, 2013 to Sunday, February 17, 2013:

Area: SA

Date: Wednesday, February 13, 2013

Location: Goolwa Sewage Ponds.

Wood Sandpiper (Tringa glareola) (6) Five close together on the margin of the
largest pool. A Black fronted Dotterel behaved very aggressively towards them
but they took little notice and just stepped aside. A sixth was on the adjacent
pool which has been nearly dry since the remodelling of this site.

Australian Spotted Crake (Porzana fluminea) (26) The middle of the old pools
referred to above is largely covered in dead weed skeletons and has several
very shallow pools. I counted 25 Spotted Crakes in a single sweep of my
telescope just before they all ran to cover when a Swamp Harrier appeared
overhead. A single bird was on the main pool next door. Quite a sight!
As nearby wetlands dry up this site seems to be becoming very attractive.
