Thu 3 Jan Australian Spotted Crake Lake Galletly, University Queensland, Lawes
Still hanging around on the 'beach' of the southern shoreline if anyone needs it for their year list. Best viewed from the road and in the afternoon for the best light.

Banded Lapwing Banool Road, Lockyer Valley
Banded Lapwing (37) Large numbers for this area. All counted in paddock adjacent to Waters Rd. Very likely several more out of my line of sight.

At least five early am near bottom of Chelmans Road approximately 400m up road from last house. Also another four at junction of Dalrymple Road and Snake Road.

White-throated Needletail (>65) Brisbane Airport
White-throated Needletail (65) Hawking skies over airport. Could quite conceivably have been more (maybe close to 100 birds), as it was difficult to follow their progress once they disappeared over terminal roof and they may have doubled back.
