Sat 12 Jan Torresian Imperial-Pigeon Fig tree
Torresian Imperial-Pigeon (1) First sighting this summer. This is the third consecutive year of sighting in the River Heads area.

Fri 11 Jan Speckled Warbler, Grey Goshawk, Wandering Whistling-Duck Lake Samsonvale
Near Samsonvale Cemetery and Kobble Creek. Grey Goshawk was patrolling the water edge; it landed once on the shore.

Thu 10 Jan Oriental Cuckoo Anstead Bushland Reserve
Oriental Cuckoo (3) One hepatic bird and two grey morph adults. The birds were seen in the middle to upper strata of the woodland along the narrow grass track that heads north of the y-junction by the water tank.

Other good birds late this afternoon were Latham's Snipe (1); Red-kneed Dotterel (2) and one adult Rufous Night Heron

Sat 5 Jan Plum-headed Finch Ashlands Drive, nr Helidon, Lockyer Valley
Plum-headed Finch (1) Bird seen perched on northern fenceline near eastern-most dam. It had dry grass in its bill and was very watchful of me.
