Australian Brush-turkey in western Sydney

We had one in our street this year roosting within meters of Pennant 
Hills Road near the corner of the M2. It had a very good view of the 
traffic and was well lit up by the street lights. It was a female or 
immature male. Curiously, it disappeared about a month ago. My theory is 
that it moved closer to a mound or mounds in order to breed (female) or 
was looking for somewhere more suitable to build one (male). It could, 
of course, have perished. It wouldn't survive a stroll across Pennant 
Hills Road.
