Birdline North Queensland

Published sightings for the week ending 5 Aug 2012.

Wed 18 Jul Crested Pigeon Moondarra Accommodation Village, Mt Isa
Among a group of about 20 Crested Pigeons feeding near the entrance at this caravan park was a pair of strikingly different but beautiful dark brown birds with chestnut on the neck. They were smaller in size (about 90%) and had deep red skin around the eyes and legs rather than the dark pink on normal birds. (melanistic?)

Birdline North Queensland is sponsored by BirdLife Northern Queensland and BirdLife Townsville and co-ordinated and hosted by Eremaea Birds.
