Thanks for the warning, much appreciated. Integrated sounds are one of
the best aspects of iWhatever birding programs. While it won't help
out directly, there should be a decent set of freely downloadable
recordings for the subcontinent here:

AVoCet (Avian Vocalizations Center)
http://avocet.zoology.msu.edu/

It's remarkable that this vast collection is available for download -
unlike some of the other big archives, such as

Cornell Lab of Ornithology
http://macaulaylibrary.org/

Boror Laboratory of Bioacoutics
http://blb.biosci.ohio-state.edu/

British Library Sound & Moving Image Catalogue
http://cadensa.bl.uk/uhtbin/cgisirsi/x/x/0/49/%20;%20charset=UTF-8

If I remember rightly, the bulk of the AVoCet collection comes from
recordings by Pamela Rasmussen. She's a pretty fascinating figure in
her own right and a major, major figure in the ornithology of the
region.

A couple of other good sound collections:

Xeno-Canto is, of course, great.
http://www.xeno-canto.org/

The Internet Bird Collection
http://ibc.lynxeds.com/

Does anyone use other major archives that I'm missing?
