Just spent a relaxing few days at Mataranka finally catching up with two
lifers, Red Goshawk and Arafura Fabtail amongst others. Can't remember the last
time we saw two new birds in one day. Spent quite a lot of time watching the
Red Goshawks around their nest thanks to the kindness of John and Nic, a huge
treat and some great shots.  It was nice to catch up with some NT birds that we
hadn't seen for wuite some time, Lemon bellied Flycatcher etc.

A brief mosquito plagued stop on the way back at Fogg Dam was also worthwhile,
although we only heard Pitta and Fruit Dove and didn't see them. Plenty of
waterbirds to admire. A trip to the Darwin Botty Gardens failed to yield the
Rufous Owl. But you can't have everything.

Please contact us directly if you want any info.
