AusBirders, Our B-B Rail which I first reported seeing on July 16 is still around the house garden. We see it most days even though there is a lot of cover for it to hide. I have watched it feeding on several occasions where it is very slow and methodical in working over an area - all the leaf litter and mulch under a schrub is totally turned over. Also it is not as skittish as it was when first seen. Since this rail turned up I have seen one in our river area about 2 weeks ago and 2 today near the old VH waste water treatment plant area. It must have been a good breeding season in 2010 as there have been numerous reports within Sth Australia over the last couple of months.
