Location: Onkaparinga River Recreation Park

Brown Quail (Coturnix ypsilophora) (10 +) Large mixed covey with Stubble Quail 
(5).Flushed from young revegetation on the southern side of the river near Gate 
10.This species has definitely exploded in numbers over the last few 
months,with all the extra weed/grass growth!

Date: Monday, May 23, 2011

Location: North Adelaide

Australian Hobby (Falco longipennis) (1) The oval immediately east of the 
Adelaide Acquatic Centre. I noticed a bird fly across the oval into the trees 
that border Fitzroy Tce. It was holding something in its talons. When I 
followed it I found a Hobby sitting on a dead tree with what looked like a 
(very dead) Noisy Miner. I saw a Hobby in the same area a couple of weeks ago.

Location: North Adelaide Parklands

Australian Hobby (Falco longipennis) (1) Seen again in the parklands east of 
the Aquatic Centre - this time on a tree on the edge of Prospect Rd. Seems to 
have taken up residence.

Date: Sunday, May 29, 2011

Location: private property adjoining the south-western section of Hale 
Conservation Park

Painted Buttonquail (Turnix varius) (1) one female observed running from open 
grassland in to the cover of fallen wood in adjoining Eucalyptus woodland.  She 
was unperturbed by our presence as we watched her for several minutes before 
heading back out in to the open grassland.

Black Falcon (Falco subniger) (1) one bird observed on 28/5/2011 flying 
southwards over Sandy Creek
