Christmas Beetles

Here in Bulahdelah (mid north coast, NSW) Christmas Beetles are usually 
abundant. In the last couple of years I've had some quite large trees 
entirely defoliated. There aren't any around yet this year, but, I have 
found some underground in my garden. My guess is that they just haven't 
emerged yet, owing to the cooler than normal conditions this summer.
