Date: Friday, September 17, 2010
Location: St Hallett Winery, Tanunda
Crested Shrike-tit (Falcunculus frontatus) (2) After not seeing or hearing
CST's for around 6+months at the winery, 2 showed up today calling their little
hearts out! Extented views of around 30mins were had from close range (3-5m
away) as they were responding very well to my call imitation, the male even
putting on a bit of a display dance when I was imitating him! (typically this
happens when i'm at work without my camera! D'oh!)
Hopefully they are looking to breed in the woodlot again as happened last year!

Date: Saturday, September 18, 2010
Location: Browns Rd Monato
Golden Whistler (Pachycephala pectoralis) (1) Observed in afternoon by Kay
Parkin and Stuart Hull. An unusual Male Golden Whistler with NO GOLD at all!!
Off white striated chest and belly, no hint of colour at all. Legs tagged -
Right leg with yellow tag, left leg has red tag above a white tag. Very unusual
looking bird. It had a bath in a puddle while we watched.

Date: Sunday, September 19, 2010
Location: Mt Lofty Botanical Gardens
Bassian Thrush (Zoothera lunulata) (1) Observed for a few minutes rummaging in
undergrowth in steep gully. I was glad for the rest actually as it was steeper
than I expected!! :) 3 playful Eastern Spinebills were also present playing
next to me. Always a pleasure to watch! This botanic garden is LARGE and STEEP
so allow plenty of time as it takes alot longer to go up than down!!
