The following is a digest of Sightings Reported on Birdpedia for the period 
Monday, July 26, 2010 to Sunday, August 1, 2010:

Area: SA

Date: Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Location: Black Point, Y.P.

Double-banded Plover (Charadrius bicinctus) (33) 33 birds were seen at high 
tide on the sand spit, sheltering among the seaweed, despite 4 people fishing 
nearby. Most were in full colour, although there was some variation in the 
flock.
Also observed by the 4 of us on this 2020 Shorebirds Count  were 106 Red-necked 
Stint & 12 Red-capped Plover.

Date: Thursday, July 29, 2010

Location: Clayton (Lake Alexandrina)

Pied Butcherbird (Cracticus nigrogularis) (1) A single adult sitting on 
fencepost along Clayton St. in Clayton Bay,about 400 metres from the Lake. 
Distinguished from the Magpie by it's white underparts and slighter 
build/smaller size and from a Magpielark by it's all-black head and nape and by 
it's larger size. The observer has previously seen this species on a number of 
occasions in the Riverland.This bird has probably moved down along the River 
Murray, well beyond its usual range.

Location: North of Port Julia, Y.P

Hooded Plover (Charadrius rubricollis) (2) The 2 birds were seen by 4 of us, 
busily feeding along the water's edge, hopefully getting ready to breed again 
after  successfully rearing 3 young last year.
