I agree with Andrew, recordings are rarely mentioned for id puposes, let alone 
offered.

Lots of compact cameras do video too, and audio notes, and have done for a long 
time.  But do they allow for an external microphone?  Mine doesn't, does your 
SLR, David?

Lots of phones can record audio these days too, and ought to be able to take an 
external microphone.  Has anyone tried this?
