I had a brief look today while out for a day at the beach with my family but didn't see it. There was a strong NE blowing - not sure how much influence that had on its movements. As far as i know a few others who tried a bit harder than i did also had no luck.

Cheers

Thanks Alistair,

After reading your post I headed back down there this afternoon for another
look and found the bird on the golf course.

A picture of the bird can be seen here.

And I've done a google map with the exact location of where I was watching the bird this afternoon, and where I took that photo. If anyone wants me to
post it to them, just let me know.

Regards,

Mark

The bird was seen at 9am this morning - not by me, but I'm told it was
fairly easily located.

G'day Nathan,

I was there from 6-7am and didn't see it either. I think it was suppose to
be on the south side of the reef near where the cliff ends and the beach
starts.

There were however 4 Sooties feeding at the bottom of the track, as well as
2 Ruddy Turnstones feeding in amongst the seaweed, and quite a bit of
Pelagic action off the reef with many imm Gannetts flying over the tip of the reef, as well as plenty of birds further out, but too far to see what
type they were.

Regards,
Mark
