Ray Gobbe and I went down today and saw both. The pratincole was quite tame
being undisturbed down to about 40ft. It was feeding actively on both
semi-aquatic invertebrates(sandhoppers) and occasionally flying up from its
wind-sheltered spot into a strong wind to swoop on passing insects, being
blown round the end of the cliffs. The woodswallows were also actively
feeding near the top of the hill in the lee.
Great spotting, Robert!
Cheers, Graham Buchan

Sydney birders may be interested to know there is an Australian Pratincole
at Long Reef (and White-browed Woodswallows too). It was found by Robert
Griffin this morning.
