Hi Anthea,Just about every Australian bird has been suggested as making your strange bird call but I want to suggest another one -Australian Owlet-nightjar. Owlet-nightjars have a cuckoo-type whistle as well as a variety of 'churring' calls. Just my two bob's worth! Greg Clancy Coutts Crossing NSW |
