Just a small thing - they aren't "vicious" for no good reason.

Magpies are smart. Not all magpies attack and those that do tend to be
specific about who they attack. In fact, rather than attack a better
description would be that the bird was taking pre-emptive defensive action.
The targets tend to people (or people who are in some way similar to a
person) who the birds perceive has threatened the nest before.

If a bird is attacking you go a different way for a few weeks. Nesting
doesn't last forever.  And both you and the bird will be less stressed by
the situation.
