Thanks everyone for the excellent info on SA, apologies for the late acknowledgement as I've been away.

Does anyone have any info on the Tanami or Pilbara (the latter, specifically Karijini NP and surrounds)? Having just found out that Newhaven has decided to close for feral animal control on the exact dates we could get there, it seems our 3 happy days there has gone up in smoke. So I'm even more keen not to miss other locations. As far as I know there's no other particularly interesting and accessible bird spots anywhere along the Tanami Rd, but if anyone knows of any I'd really appreciate info.

Cheers,

Julian

Hi Julian and others interested

The Springs are called Coward. With nice warm water flowing.

The Pub at Williams Creek is well worth a look inside the Bar normally just open to see.

I would caution however the state the roads may be in following the real rains we have been receiving over the past 7 to 10 days.
Please ensure you check this out before you travel.

Also you need permission to enter the T & T site east of Lyndhurst. I do not have the details but may well be in the birding-aus archives.
