Ian McAllan was on Christmas Island in the first week of May this year. In addition to other previously reported great finds he had a singing warbler which he was unable to identify. He recorded the song and played it to me over the phone from the Island. It was unfamiliar to me. It has now been confidently identified by two independent Asian experts as a Dusky Warbler Phylloscopus fuscatus, a species not previously reported on Australian territory.
