Hi Folks,

Sorry for the tardy posting. On Saturday afternoon I was seawatching at
Mistral Point in a strong southerly. A Buller's Shearwater was seen at about
3pm but much more surprising at 4.15 was a breeding plumage Arctic Tern
which was struggling to fly south along the edge of the cliffs - perhaps its
was looking for a roost spot? It had long tail streamers, a wholly red bill,
full black cap, bouncy wingbeats and was noticeably light grey on the wings
(with no evident black edge). This is my first breeding plumage Arctic Tern
in Oz.

Cheers, Graham Buchan
