Certainly not a Rakali, alias Water Rat Hydromys chrysogaster. See http://www.rakali.com/

But there are records of Rakali from the City of Kingston (which includes Edithvale) near the mouth of the Mordialloc Creek - and a recent probable at Braeside Park.(Dingley drain)

I would love to hear of any Rakali sightings from the City of Kingston, where a recent survey at Mordialloc Creek failed to find any.
