In July 2005 I observed 109+ White-necked Herons at Deep Creek, near
Ulmarra, north coast NSW. Obviously it is a highly mobile species that
takes advantage of the fluctuating water resources of this country.
Recently there have been only single birds scattered over the local
wetlands.
