Where have all the White-necked Herons gone?

I haven't been birding long enough to have noticed anything like that.
I saw a couple in Altona late last year, but none since.  I saw several
north of the Divide from the train on the way to Albury from Melbourne
on the weekend.

Do they have seasonal movements?
