The autocorrect feature of Outlook, my mail program, insists on changing "id" to "I'd" every time I type it. Perhaps I should enter a few of these abbreviations into it to save me typing the whole name each time. In my field notes I only partly abbreviate, for fear of not knowing what I meant some time in the future. For that species I might write B-faced C-shr.
