Thanks David. I thought it would be the wrong season for especially tattlers of 
either species. In addition to your response, Chris sent great pictures of 
Grey-tailed Tattlers and Red-necked Stints he took at Long Reef recently. Thus, 
it makes sense that we saw these two species today.

Hi Nikolas,
Grey-tailed Tattler and Red-necked Stints are commonly at Long Reef.
Not doubting the possibility of something different of course, but  
they are the "usual suspects" you would expect to see there.
