Not much to go on, but inasmuch as the evidence is available from the photo and assuming it is a wild bird in Australia and no funny tricks of lighting etc, there is only one possibility and that is Brown Goshawk. Philip On Thu May 8 20:35 , "Paul & Irene Osborn" sent: Debate is raging on another forum about the ID of a raptor. Some of the guesses are outrageous.
