There was a similar looking bird (very similar bill and leg colour) seen on a
Birds WA excursion to ALCOA Wellard Wetlands (~30mins south of Perth city). It
caused a good deal of confusion at the time as the bill and leg colour
suggested a Great Egret but the gape was wrong and the size and active hunting
behaviour indicated a Little Egret. Photos of the bird were taken and it was
confirmed as a Little Egret.
