>From my experience, swags are great! I recommend spending a bit more to get
a good one, with flyscreen covers as well as full covering if it rains and
with fibreglass semi-circular "poles" at each end to hold it up off the
body/face. These are really simple to put in place with just a single tent
peg at each end. There are now some really good ones (check out Ray's
Outdoor). You then have insect proof and fully rain proof as required, or
you can leave it open. And yes, they are very comfortable!
You are right that they are so quick and easy to set up and you can leave
bedding (whatever you like to use) inside when you roll it up for the day.
We paid around $400 for a double a few years back and it is great. Even
better if you have a double (which is really about one and a half) and there
is only one of you, as then you can keep a few bits and pieces in there with
you (like binos, and champagne to celebrate when the Grey Falcon cruises
over you early in the morning!).
