Below is Stephen Debus' comment on this thread. Greg Clancy "It's well known that Bazas eat fruit (e.g. HANZAB), picking figs from among the branches. I wouldn't be surprised by the scavenging kites trying a bit of fallen fruit if it looked edible, and avocados are high in oil so they may be attractive. There is an African raptor that specialises in fruit-- the Palm-nut Vulture (on fruits of the oil-palm).
