Hi all,
This morning I sighted a probable Arctic Jaeger at Godwin Beach, SE Queensland
(Australia).
I say 'probable' because I am not an expert in seabird identification and this
would be my first record of that species.
A photo of the bird can be seen at:

Godwin Beach is near Bribie Island and can be found by referring to the
Brisbane UBD Refidex Map 62 square A1.
The weather this morning was quite wild with strong winds from the sea and
periods of heavy rain.
The jaeger spent its time either chasing Silver Gulls or resting in the
sea-grass.
I was able to get within 15 metres to take some reasonable photos.
Godwin Beach is a good place to try at low tide for Striated Herons and Little
Egrets.
