Please disregard my earlier comments about this research project. It is all above board, and there is approval from JCU Ethics Committee and Qld Parks & Wildlife for the study:

CU Ethics #: A 919, Expiry: 31 Dec. 2007

Queensland Parks and Wildlife: WISP01994004, Expiry: 30 June 2009

Natalie has a JCU email address but has been on Birding-Aus for some years under the excite.com address she used to post the message. She hasn't asked me to, but I apologise to her for doubting these credentials.

Nevertheless, it is a reminder to us all that a very tiny proportion of those who have an interest in birds are operating against birds' welfare, and sometimes outside the law. It is always a good idea to check that things are what they seem.

I've asked Natalie to give us some feedback about her project once the research is complete - I hope she will do this for us.
