Hi birders, I had the occasion recently (24th-26th September) to take a quick side trip in North-west Victoria. Had superb views of 7-8 Regent Parrots, bathed in the golden light of the late afternoon sun, chattering away, and in full view through my scope....! I camped for 2 nights in Hattah-Kulkyne N.P., and this sighting was by a gorgeous Lake Yerang, full of waterfowl, Great Egrets and Glossy Ibis. The Victorians have probably experienced the lakes in Hattah almost dried out? The Mallee didn't do much for me there, tho' - didn't get a peep out of the specials!
