A comment on zoom eyepieces.

Unlike most camera zoom lenses, they do not remain in focus as you zoom. I suspect that this is because there isn't much room for mechanism and several lenses in such a compact unit. Even allowing for improvements in the 5 years or so since we bought ours following an optics day put on by BA, when even Leica and Swarovski had to be refocussed, I suspect that this is still the case.

And the bigger the lens, the more light gets in - essential for antiques like me.
