Hi Penny

As a Councillor I just want everyone to get on to their local Council about issues like this. Are they doing enough? Says who? Not just muggins that you elected.

The effect of Camphor Laurel on birds ("very acceptable") seems likely, as well as displacing other vegetation, to be killing some species. See ABW March 06 "Invasive and toxic Camphor Laurel: A potential threat to native Australian birds".

I've been at this issue for years. At least my Council now controls bird-attracting weeds by eliminating it them where they threaten native species and controlling them elsewhere.

And climate change? How far south is it going to go as temperatures climb? Too far I suspect.
