I am considering a trip to see my only remaining Grasswren, the Black
Grasswren, but I have been considering combining it with a trip to see the
vagrant Red-legged Crake as well. I have limited time and would probably fly
into Broome and hire a car from there.
Firstly, I would be interested in anyone that might be interested in joining us
on the trip and sharing costs. I intend car camping, travelling light and
intend heading off in a week or two. I don't have much time available to me so
it will be a short sharp trip - say a week maximum.
Secondly, I would appreciate any information anybody can provide on the
following:
Details of likely and easily accessible sites for finding Black Grasswren?
Will I need a 4WD to access the site?
Contact details for the owner/manager of properties if access is required?
Is there anybody I should contact directly for information before heading up
there?
Thanks in advance for any assistance anybody can provide. I shall be away for
the next few days out west but shall look forward to any information, anybody
can provide.
