I saw 6 yesterday, hanging around near the first tram stop up from
Flemington Rd.  I also watched them taunting the Sparrowhawks into
chasing them this morning.  They don't seem particularly afraid of the
Sparrowhawks, often approaching very close on a branch, but flee when
chased.

Perhaps it's simply a matter of trying to remove a predator that could
harm them if caught unawares, so they don't have to waste energy looking
out for them.
